SuédoisHi :) I am Barbara (the short version is Barča in Czech). I learned English in school, but I don't believe in myself with speaking and generally in grammar, also extending my vocabulary isn´t a bad idea either.
I study at Masaryk University in Brno, so struggling with English in my studies was another reason to sign up here. I am looking forward to finding more confidence in English language and maybe find new international friends and learn some about their culture.
At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, I started learning Swedish, currently, I know just a few words and phrases. So if we could speak in English and meanwhile correct my pronunciation of some Swedish words, it would be great. :)

My name is John RAO (饶中), and you can call me John.
I'm an associate professor of industrial engineering at Guangdong University of Technology. I've been a consultant and lecturer on Lean manufacturing and Industrial Engineering for almost 40 years.
I live in Shenzhen, a southern city in Guangdong province adjacent to Hong Kong, with my wife and daughter. My wife is a vocal teacher, and my daughter is a high-school student.
My Mandarin is quite standard (Mandarin Proficiency Certificate, Level 2, Grade A). I've been engaged in language exchange for over two years with an American. I can communicate in English without difficulties, but I still make mistakes every now and then because my English is entirely self-taught.
