Hi, I'm an American in Prague for 7+ years. I did my PhD here in AI for math and now am working on formalizing meta-ethics in logic (SUMO). I speak English and Japanese well. I taught English at public schools in Japan, and I used to suck at spelling, so I won't make fun of you :P.
I'd like to apply for permanent residence, which requires A2 level, and I'd like to be able to eavesdrop on Czech conversations. So I'm finally seriously studying Czech!
I also wish to be able to eavesdrop to know whether people are discussing interesting topics. Being able to navigate basic, friendly interactions when social dancing in Czech would be great, too. So "basic fluency" around B1-2 is a more inspiring goal in the long-term.. as pro teď, Česka republika je moje domov.
Hobbies and interests: Balfolk, social dance, raves, science fiction, hiking, fitness, philosophy, h++, personal development,...

Hi :) I am Barbara (the short version is Barča in Czech). I learned English in school, but I don't believe in myself with speaking and generally in grammar, also extending my vocabulary isn´t a bad idea either.
I study at Masaryk University in Brno, so struggling with English in my studies was another reason to sign up here. I am looking forward to finding more confidence in English language and maybe find new international friends and learn some about their culture.
At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, I started learning Swedish, currently, I know just a few words and phrases. So if we could speak in English and meanwhile correct my pronunciation of some Swedish words, it would be great. :)
