I am a pensioner who teaches history and Japanese to elementary and junior high school students, and sometimes teaches English to Beginners.

A Japanese medieval writer named Chikamatsu Monzaemon is remarkably prominent in my lineage, although he is a branch of the family. Unfortunately, I am the youngest grandson of the Chikamatsu lineage, though I have only one ancestor who is not related to the family, but I am a descendant of the Chikamatsu lineage. In the 18th century, there was a ronin in the Chikamatsu family who took part in a battle in Edo. When the family was about to commit ritual suicide, the ancestor succeeded to the samurai family despite his peasant status.

I am well versed in Japanese history and have a more accurate knowledge of world history than a Japanese history teacher. We continue to have scientifically accurate world history in our weekly Zoom study sessions.
