Hi! My name is Michael Bárta. I was born in Texas, and now live in Portland OR with my wife Katrina. I am retire.
Although my father was of Moravian ancestry, my family did not speak it at home. When I was in college I studied Czech 1 year, then spent 6 weeks in Prague (1976), but stopped learning until 8 months ago.
Now I study Czech almost daily. My vocabulary is growing and I understand written language some, but I need to practice speaking with someone.
I have three college degrees, and I am very good with English grammar. I’m hoping that I might find a learning partner.
Also, my wife and I spent 2 weeks in Prague in April, and we are planning to move there next year!
