I am a 30 year old, software engineer, and typical mono-lingual American but I am trying to learn Norwegian and/or Mandarin.
I have learned quite a bit of basic Bokmal vocabulary through Duolingo but am having difficulty stringing it all together into casual conversation and also interpreting the speech of others. Would love to improve.
I studied mandarin in school for a year and a half and found it quite challenging but am keen to pick it back up. I actually work for a Chinese bank and thought it would be neat to converse with some of my coworkers that are fluent in mandarin.
I play a lot of video games, probably too much, love horror films, and enjoy dry humor.
